Homemade (My favourite and tastiest way!) Healthy Hot Chocolate

This one is delicious, healthy and easy to make. Save yourself the trip to the coffee shop because this recipe is well worth making from home and enjoying by the fire or sipping while watching your favourite show.

I was always intimidated to make my own recipe for this because, well, how do you perfect a classic! My trick was to use simple ingredients and make it as healthy as possible. I also subbed in regular milk for NutPods Cinnamon Swirl (my favourite non-dairy creamer!) Keep the regular milk if you like or you can also use almond milk, coconut milk or macadamia nut milk.

Homemade Hot Chocolate

The easiest and tastiest hot chocolate you will ever make!

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk of choice (I love using the Nutpods Cinnamon Swirl)
  • whipped cream (reg or dairy free) or marshmallows for topping


  • Add all ingredients to a saucepan and mix well. Warm through.
  • Pour into a mug. Top it off with whipped cream, marshmallows or shaved chocolate!
